Sun Princess. New features debuting on Sun Princess include the Signature Collection, a new level of suite accommodation. And although it won't be clustering all those suites together in one place (as other lines have been doing on their newer vessels), passengers in these suites will have exclusive access to the Signature Restaurant, Signature Lounge and Signature Sun Deck, a private area of the adult-only retreat The Sanctuary. Sun Princess will have a total of 2,157 cabins, including 50 suites and 100 connecting rooms, and have more outdoor balcony space than any other ships in the fleet. Of particular note, standard balcony staterooms will now offer in-room sofas -- a huge improvement over past designs that only offered a desk and chair for seating.

    Day 4

    At Sea

At Sea. Imagine a place where the horizon stretches endlessly, and the only sounds are the gentle lapping of waves against the hull and the distant cries of seabirds. Being at sea offers a unique blend of tranquility and adventure that few experiences can match. Whether you're on a luxurious cruise or a humble sailboat, the ocean has a way of captivating the soul and igniting a sense of wonder.(more…)
    Day 5

    Gibraltar

Gibraltar, Red pillar boxes, fish-and-chip shops, and creaky 1970s seaside hotels: Gibraltar – as British writer Laurie Lee once commented – is a piece of Portsmouth sliced off and towed 500 miles south. ‘The Rock’ overstates its Britishness, a bonus for pub-grub and afternoon-tea lovers, but a confusing double-take for modern Brits who thought the days of Lord Nelson memorabilia were long gone. Poised strategically at the jaws of Europe and Africa, Gibraltar, with its Palladian architecture and camera-hogging Barbary macaques, makes an interesting break from the white towns of bordering Cádiz province.

    Day 8

    Genoa

Genoa. The home of Pesto and Christopher Columbus, Genoa is often bypassed in favor of Instagram-magnet Cinque Terre or fashionista’s choice Milan. This is a shame because to neglect this handsome port is to miss out on one of Italy's most affordable, low-key, local-vibes cities. The capital of Liguria is not the most glamorous place in Italy. But its maritime heritage can never be questioned. Its harbor was alive with boats before the Roman Empire had risen, and it spent the  Middle Ages as an independent city-state.
Genoa is one of the most fascinating, unique, and beautiful European cities, nestled between the Ligurian mountains and the azure blue sea. Not everyone knows that Genoa boasts the largest historic center in Europe. It is enchanting to get lost among its maze of alleyways, and quite the workout with the hills. Then there are the monumental streets built by noble families of times gone by and the bustling, kilometer-long promenade, not to mention the unforgettable food.
