Our journey began in the eternal city of Rome, where history breathes through every corner. After spending two enchanting nights at a charming hotel, we explored the Colosseum, Vatican City, and indulged in authentic Italian cuisine, setting the perfect prelude to our voyage.
Setting Sail: Departure from Rome
Once aboard the majestic Queen Anne, anticipation filled the air as we set sail for our first destination. The ship itself was a marvel, with its grand interiors, exquisite dining options, and a plethora of activities ranging from relaxing spa treatments to lively evening entertainment. As the Italian coastline faded into the horizon, the sea beckoned us towards adventure.
Discovering Spain: Valencia, Barcelona, and Malaga
Our first port of call was Valencia, a city that seamlessly blends futuristic architecture with traditional Spanish charm. We explored the stunning City of Arts and Sciences and savored paella at a local eatery. Next, Barcelona welcomed us with its vibrant energy. Gaudí’s whimsical structures, such as the Sagrada Família and Park Güell, left us in awe. Strolling down Las Ramblas, we indulged in tapas and shopped for souvenirs.
Malaga was our final Spanish destination, where the warm sun and sandy beaches provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation. We visited the Picasso Museum and roamed the Alcazaba fortress, immersing ourselves in the city’s rich history and culture.
The Rock of Gibraltar
Our journey culminated with a visit to Gibraltar, a unique blend of British and Mediterranean influences. Standing atop the iconic Rock, we marveled at the panoramic views stretching across two continents. The friendly Barbary macaques added a playful touch to our adventure.
