Iceland & Norway from Southampton – P&O Arcadia – 27 June 2025

Iceland & Norway from Southampton – P&O Arcadia – 27 June 2025. Embarking on a cruise from Southampton to the Nordic marvels of Iceland and Norway offers an unforgettable journey through some of the world’s most breathtaking landscapes. This voyage blends the raw, mystical beauty of nature with the comfort and luxury of cruise travel.

Iceland: Land of Fire and Ice

Our first stop in Iceland was Reykjavik, the world’s northernmost capital. The city’s vibrant arts scene and historic landmarks, such as Hallgrímskirkja, offer a delightful introduction. However, the true highlight was the excursion to the Golden Circle. Standing before the thundering Gullfoss waterfall and witnessing the Strokkur geyser erupting was an awe-inspiring experience.

Iceland’s natural wonders continued to amaze us in Akureyri, where a journey to the nearby Godafoss waterfall and the Myvatn Nature Baths provided a serene escape into nature’s embrace.

Norway: Fjords and Fairy Tales

Sailing onward to Norway, the cruise wove through the stunning Norwegian Fjords, where sheer cliffs and cascading waterfalls form a dramatic backdrop. Our first port of call was Bergen, a city known for its colorful wooden houses and the UNESCO-listed Bryggen wharf. The Fløibanen funicular offered panoramic views of the city and surrounding fjords, a sight not to be missed.

In Alesund, the Art Nouveau architecture set against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains felt like stepping into a fairy tale. The highlight here was climbing the 418 steps to Aksla viewpoint, rewarding us with a breathtaking panorama.

The cruise concluded in Geiranger, nestled at the end of the Geirangerfjord. The Seven Sisters waterfall and the Eagle’s Road viewpoint provided jaw-dropping vistas that perfectly encapsulated Norway’s natural beauty.

In conclusion, this cruise from Southampton to Iceland and Norway was a journey through mesmerizing landscapes, rich cultures, and unforgettable experiences. It’s a voyage that beckons nature lovers and adventurers alike, promising memories that will last a lifetime.
