Banff is primarily known as a fantastic destination for ski holidays, with dozens of great ski areas, some of the best apres ski venues in Canada, and even sleigh rides.
In the summer, however, the town of Banff and Banff National Park provides fantastic opportunities for hiking and climbing, as well as cultural pursuits. The Canadian Rockies are among some of the most dramatic mountains on earth, and although they’re home to predators like the grizzly bear, they’re safe on the trails and ripe for exploration. Natural highlights like Bow Falls, Emerald Lake, and the stunning glacial scenery of the Icefields Parkway are unmissable. And that’s not mentioning the breathtaking Columbia Icefields, the chance to climb Sulphur Mountain and Mt Norquay, or exploring the idyllic area around Lake Minnewanka.
